The Hertfordshire (Temporary Traffic Management Measures on Various Roads in Widford and Stanstead Abbotts) Order 2021

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) will be:-

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B180 Hunsdon Road, Widford from its junction with Daintrees south eastwards for a distance of approximately 40 metres, except for access.

An alternative route will be via B180 Hunsdon Road, B1004 (Ware Road/Widbury Hill/Star Street), A1170 (Bridge Foot/Viaduct Road/London Road/Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill), B181 (Station Road/High Street/Roydon Road) and B180 (Hunsdon Road/Stanstead Road/High Street/Widford Road/Hunsdon Road).

2. The existing 7.5 tonnes (mgw) weight restriction on that length of B181 (Station Road/ High Street/Roydon Road), Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with the A414 Eastwick Road/A1170 Pepper Hill roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with B180 Hunsdon Road, a distance of approximately 2180 metres will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads, whilst works are in progress.

3. The existing 7.5 tonnes (mgw) weight restriction on that length of B180 Hunsdon Road, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with B181 Roydon Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 2210 metres will be temporarily suspended to enable all vehicles to use this length of roads, whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 14 January 2021 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
