Dear Resident / Business Owner,
Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor – Fourth Avenue
Road Closure – Fourth Avenue
On behalf of Essex County Council, Bouygues UK Ltd are undertaking essential works on Fourth
Avenue as part of the Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor project.
As part of these works, night closures will take place on Fourth Avenue at the following dates
and times:
- Thursday 12th June, 8pm – 5am: Eastbound from the North Gate Roundabout to the
Velizy Roundabout - Friday 13th June, 8pm – 5am: Westbound from the Velizy Roundabout to North Gate
Roundabout
This closure is needed to ensure public and workforce safety during the instillation of drainage and
ducting on Fourth Avenue. Please note that these works are weather dependent, and dates may
change subject to weather conditions.
Due to the nature of these works, there will be no access for vehicles, including the emergency
services, but there will be clearly signed diversion routes during this closure period. Please find below
two maps detailing the closure locations and diversion routes.
A certain amount of inconvenience is inevitable with work of this type, and we greatly appreciate
your patience whilst the works are being undertaken. These works will unavoidably create some
noise, and we will endeavour to keep particularly noisy operations to a minimum during these closure
times. We apologise for any disturbance caused during this essential work and wish to assure you
that we will undertake these works as efficiently and quickly as possible.
For further information, updates relating to this closure, and to check on any future closures and
works taking place during the project, please refer to the following:
