The Hertford Music Centre based at the Simon Balle School has invited Hunsdon residents to take part in its activities.

As well as individual lessons in guitar, flute, piano and violin, the Centre offers various activities every Friday evening, with something available for everyone – no matter your age or experience level. Just tap on the activity for a flyer with all the details.

  • JAM – 4pm-4.45pm – a group for primary age children to explore music making and different musical instruments in a fun environment
  • String Ensemble, 5pm-5.45pm – an introduction to ensemble playing for string players from grade 1 to grade 4
  • Wind Band, 6pm-7pm – new for 2023. For wind, brass, percussion and bass guitar players. Playing a wide range of music from pop to show and classical.
  • East Herts Youth Orchestra, 6pm-7.30pm – our most senior group, for orchestral players from grade 5 upwards.

For this term only the Centre is also running the Get Playing programme, a scheme that offers school age children five free instrumental lessons plus a free instrument for the duration and a term afterwards should they choose to continue.
