The Hunsdon Parish Council meets every third Monday of the month except for August and December.

The next meeting is Monday 19th October 2020. All residents and press are welcome to attend the meetings.

If we are still not permitted to hold public meetings in person, the Parish Council meeting will be held virtually. Email the Clerk on: clerk@hunsdonparishcouncil.org and you will be invited to the videoconference.

Until government guidelines permit, all Parish Council meetings will be held remotely. We will be holding the Precept meeting in November, which will meet government guidelines for social distancing and follow the Rule of Six.

The new playground is now open

The fencing has been replaced. The swings have been replaced and a basket swing added. There is a new small playhouse and the surfacing has been replaced. But the most popular new piece of equipment is the zip wire. It’s fast and you get a good swing at the end of it, so you have to hold on tight!

The zip wire was purchased with a Community Grant from East Herts Council. The Parish Room Trust (aka the Tin Hut Fund) made a contribution towards the picnic benches. The rest of the funding came from statutory contributions to the community from two of the new housing developments in the village: Ellison Park and the Well House development in Acorn Street.

We hope to have a belated grand opening when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

We also have more plans for the playing field. Stage 2 of the playground refurbishment will include a new climbing frame, see-saw, gravity bowl spinners and an aero whirl. We also have plans for an outdoor gym and to convert the tennis courts into a Multi Use Games Area.

But all this will cost a lot of money. So if you have any ideas for fundraising or would like to be part of the planning group please contact Jackie Carthy at 01920 872597 or by email
